  The most ancient percussion instrument in India is a Mizhavu. 𝐀 𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐡𝐚𝐯 𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐮 (Malayalam: മിഴാവ് ) is a big copper drum played as an accompanying percussion instrument by hand.
